Founded in 1837, the Village of New Albany truly came to life in the last two decades as a result of the passion and ingenuity of individuals who believe it’s not just where we live, but how we live that defines our quality of life. Today, New Albany is that rare location that leaves nothing to chance!
Behind its charming urban village design, a sophisticated approach to sustainable development and ongoing public-private partnerships result in a remarkable level of architectural integrity, community interaction, and economic vitality. Every school in the district has been designated a national Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the US Department of Education, and the district has received an “excellent” rating from the Department of Education for the past five years.
The population was 3,711 at the 2000 census, but was estimated to have increased to over 7,000 by 2009.
